Bowling Green drops a 4-3 decision to Notre Dame, losing the best of three series 2-0.
With the win, the Fighting Irish advance to a CCHA Semifinal, March 23 at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit.
Bryce Williamson scored two goals for the Falcons for his 12th of the season, he finished the season with 18 points. Ben Murphy scored a power play goal and added an assist in the second period. Ralfs Freibergs had two assists.
BG dug itself in an early hole with two penalties in the first six minutes of the game. The Fighting Irish scored on their second power play opportunity off of a Bryan Rust goal at 6:44 in the first period. The Irish scored their second goal six minutes later on a Nick Larson shot at 12:45 in the first.
Bryce Williamson cut the deficit in half with a power play goal at 6:33 in the second period to make it 2-1. The goal was assisted by Ralfs Freibergs and Ben Murphy. It was the first goal Steven Summerhays had given up in 134 minutes of play.
BG tied it at two with just under two minutes remaining in the second period on a Murphy power play goal, assisted by Freibergs at 18:42.
Rust scored on a penalty shot at 8:28 in the third period which gave Notre Dame a 3-2 lead. The penalty shot was assessed after Dan DeSalvo covered the puck with his glove in the crease.
Anders Lee increased the lead to 4-2, four minutes later on a power play goal but BG answered 13 seconds later on a Williamson goal which narrowed the lead to one. Andrew Hammond had another strong night in goal with 30 saves.
Bowling Green finished the season 15-21-5.[nggallery id=12]
