Bowling Green drops a 2-0 decision to Lake Superior State University in the first game of the CCHA Tournament.
Laker goals were scored by Domenic Monardo and Bryce Schmitt within a two and a half minute span early in the second period.
BG could not find the back of the net as LSSU goaltender, Kevin Kapalka was able to stop all 31 shots on goal. Andrew Hammond helped keep the Falcons in the game, making several point blank saves, stopping 26 of 28 shots faced.
The Falcons were 0-4 on the power play, unable to take advantage of a 5 minute man advantage in the first period after LSSU forward, Kellan Lain received a game misconduct after contact to the head to Dan DeSalvo.
Bowling Green is back on the ice tomorrow at 7:05 p.m. The Falcons must win tomorrow to force a decisive third game on Sunday.
