Bowling Green senior defenseman Bobby Shea has signed an amateur try out contract with the Reading Royals of the East Coast Hockey League.Shea played 40 games this season for the Falcons. He lead the team with 50 blocked shots, a plus-17 rating and 56 penalty minutes. He was fifth on the team in points (20) and second in assists (16).
The Harrison Township, MI. native had four goals, including a shorthanded goal in the final home game of the season in a 5-3 win over Northern Michigan on February 23.
Shea was a CCHA All-Conference second team selection and a finalist for CCHA Best Defensive Defenseman. He led defensemen with 15 assists and a plus-14 rating, while blocking 32 shots in conference play.
Shea will suit up for the Royals this weekend, as they face off against the Toledo Walleye Saturday and Sunday at the Huntington Center in Toledo.
