From Home Ice to a Trip to the “Soo”

Bowling Green welcomed Northern Michigan to the BGSU Ice Arena last weekend with a chance to clinch a first round series on home ice. The Falcons would drop their Friday matchup 2-5 before taking Senior Night on Saturday 5-3. As the Falcons moved into the final weekend of CCHA regular season play they again had a chance to host a first round series. But, the Falcons had no answer for the Irish as they were swept by Notre Dame 3-4, 1-4. With Lake Superior winning their Saturday night game against Ferris State they clinched home ice for themselves and will welcome the Falcons six hours north to Abel Arena.

Return of DeSavior?

Dan DeSalvo set a CCHA record scoring 10 goals in 6 playoff games last year in the CCHA tournament. This year the sophomore forward leads the team with 19 assists.

Falcon’s History Against the Lakers

The Falcons hold a 75-66-10 all-time record against the Lake Superior. However, the Falcons are 11-4 when they play the Lakers in the CCHA tournament.

Scouting the Lakers

Lake Superior will host a playoff series for the third straight year. Senior forward Domenic Monardo leads the team in both points and goals (19-11-30). Playing in net for the Lakers will be Kevin Murdock. The junior goaltender is second in the CCHA and eighth in the country in save percentage with a .935 mark.
