With the Falcons heading to Pittsburgh next weekend for the Three Rivers Classic, it’s only fitting that this week’s look back at Falcon hockey history includes a tournament first for the team.

Cleveland Cup Champions

12/20-21/71 — BGSU captures its first holiday tournament title by winning the Cleveland Cup, defeating Princeton, 6-4, and Yale, 5-3.

College Hockey’s King Gets #300

12/21/91 — Head coach Jerry York collects his 300th victory behind the Falcon bench as BG defeats Boston College, 5-3, in the opening round of the Mariucci Classic in Minneapolis, Minn.
