Seniors and Award Winners Honored at Banquet

On April 26, 2014, at the Stroh Center, the Falcon hockey class of 2014 and various award winners were honored at the yearly banquet. The show was emceed by this year’s “Voice of Falcon Hockey,” Kevin Meyers. He started the program with a recap of the Falcon’s first winning season since the 1996 campaign including a trip to the WCHA Final Five in the Falcon’s first year in the league. A highlight video of the season was shown next showcasing the top plays from the year that was.

After the video Head Coach Chris Bergeron took to the podium to give his thoughts on not only the past season but to also thank the community, fans, coaches, players, and most of all the families of the players. This year’s senior class was Bergeron’s first when he took the reins of the program in 2010.

Next, Mr. Meyers took the microphone to announce the award winners for the 2013-2014 edition of the Falcon Icers. Here is a listing of the awards and their winners:

After the hardware was given out, the seniors had a final chance to address their teammates, coaches, families, and fans a final time before a highlight video closed the banquet. The team will open the season on 10/4/14 in an exhibition game at the BGSU Ice Arena against Simon Fraser (Burnaby, BC) at 12pm.
