Tommy Burke started in net for the Falcons and made 25 saves on 27 attempts. Ville Runola countered for Clarkson stopping 27 of 29 opportunities.
The Golden Knights struck first at 4:43 of the first period. Todd Christian and Troy Joseph assisted on a goal scored by Nic Pierog.
Neither team committed any penalties in the first period. Burke faced five shots saving four. Runola turned aside all 11 attempts he faced.
Red hot Kevin Dufour scored the Falcon’s (1-1) first goal of the game and his seventh of the young season at 2:29 of the second period. Assisting on the goal was Dajon Mingo and Matt Pohlkamp.
Joe Zarbo retook Clarkson’s (2-1) lead at 4:35 of the second period. After taking a pass from Todd Christian Zarbo wrapped the puck past Burke from behind the net.
Mitchell McLain tied the game (2-2) back up at 11:31 of the second period. Mark Cooper took advantage of a Knight turnover in their own zone before assisting on the goal.
Both teams fired ten shots on net in the second period, with each goalie stopping eight of those attempts.
The Falcons and Golden Knights went scoreless in the third period. Bowling Green only managed six shots on net while Clarkson tallied eight.
Neither team could score in overtime either and the game ended in a tie. BG only challenged Runola twice but one of the attempts was on a breakaway that Kevin Dufour couldn’t convert. The Knights tallied four shots on Burke.
Bowling Green goes to 3-1-1 overall on the season and will conclude the series with Clarkson (2-2-1) at 7:30pm Saturday.
