Bowling Green has signed three defensemen to national letters of intent.
Matthew Ferrari will join the Falcons this season, Jordan Ernst is expected to join the team for the 2016-17 season and Carson Musser is expected to start his career with the 2017-18 season.
“All three have a chance to be really special at this level,” BG coach Chris Bergeron said.
Ferrari comes to BG from the Toronto Junior Canadiens in the Ontario Junior Hockey League. He had six goals and 26 assists in 60 games last season. He’s 6-0, 175, and turns 18 in October.
Musser played last season for the Michigan U18 Nationals. He’s 6-1, 185 and turned 18 in April.
Musser’s uncle and aunt, Rick and Nadine Musser, live in the BG area. His great aunt and uncle, Sally and Bill Blair, live in BG
“They’re guys who make a lot of small, little hockey plays,” Bergeron said. “They can all get involved offensively which we’re trying to trend to because it’s so hard to score, 5 on 5 in particular.”
Ernst (6-0, 198) played last season for the Chicago Mission U18 team. He turned 18 in June.
“He shoots the puck a ton and he’s hard to play against,” Bergeron said.
