Two forwards have verbally committed to Bowling Green.
The two are Casey Linkenheld and Connor Ford.
Linkenheld, who will play for Cedar Rapids in the United States (Junior) Hockey League this season, will join the Falcons for the 2016-17 season.
Ford probably won’t join the Falcons before the 2017-18 season. The 17-year-old will play at Shattuck St. Mary’s Prep School (Minn.) this season.
Most recruits don’t come to BG until they’ve played at least one and sometimes two seasons of junior hockey. Ford turns 18 in February.
Ford, a right wing, will join the Falcons for the 2017-18 season, according to Eliteprospects.com and Collegehockeyinc.com.
Linkenheld had 23 goals, 20 assists, 24 penalty minutes and an on-ice rating of minus-1 in 50 games for Johnstown in the North American (Junior) Hockey League last season.
He also played one game for Dubuque in the USHL, but did not have a point.
Linkenheld is 5-foot-11, 172 pounds and turns 21 in May. The left wing is from Bartlett, Ill.
Ford had 12 goals, 14 assists and six penalty minutes in 54 games for Shattuck St. Mary’s last season.
Ford is 5-10, 150. He’s from Pittsburgh. His USHL rights are owned by Sioux City.
Under NCAA rules, Falcon coach Chris Bergeron can’t comment on recruits until he’s received their signed national letter of intent.
