Jordan Ernst will be joining the Falcon hockey team for the second half of the 2015-2016 season. Ernst made the announcement this afternoon via his Twitter account.

Ernst, a 6-foot-2, 205-pound defenseman, is playing for the Madison Capitols in the United States (Junior) Hockey League. His addition to the Falcons gives the team some much needed flexibility in terms of defense. He’ll be BG’s eighth defenseman after the team began the season with nine.

Ernst, who turned 18 in June, has four assists and 24 penalty minutes in 16 games this season.

He signed his national letter of intent in November 2014, and originally was scheduled to join the Falcons for the 2016-17 or 2017-18 season. He’s from Mokena, Ill.

We will continue to update this post as more details become available.
