Sophomore defenseman Jordan Ernst has signed a contract with the Sarnia Sting of the Ontario Hockey League. The Mokena, Illinois native joined the Falcons for the second half of the 2015-2016 season after starting the year with the Madison Capitals of the United States Hockey League.

Ernst struggled at times to crack the Falcon lineup, only playing in 15 of 23 games while the team dressed five defensemen. He finished with 2 assists, 8 PIMs, and a +1 rating.

Chris Bergeron recently announced his incoming freshman class, which includes defensemen Jacob Dalton and Alec Rauhauser. Niko Coffman will also be joining the Falcon blue line this season, but hasn’t yet been officially announced.

Barring any other defections from their defensive corps, the Falcons will return their top four defensemen.
