Bowling Green posted a 3-2 victory over the University of Windsor in its annual Canadian exhibition Saturday in the Ice Arena.
Tomas Sholl started in goal for the Falcons, while Blake Richard was in goal for Windsor.
Windsor’s Chadd Bauman opened the scoring with a short-handed goal off a nice individual rush at 12:46.
The Falcons held an 11-8 edge in shots.
Brett D’Andrea scored twice from the left circle for a 2-1 BG lead. The goals came at 5:01 on the power play and at 10:26.
Frederick Letourneau and Alec Rauhauser assisted on the first goal, while the second goal was unassisted.
The Falcons increased their lead to 3-1 on Kevin Dufour’s rebound goal during a 5 on 3 power play at 17:46. Mark Friedman assisted on the goal.
BG had 14 shots on goal, while Windsor had five.
Steve Anthony’s goal off a 2 on 1 cut BG’s lead to 3-2, just 35 seconds into the third period.
Windsor outshot BG by a 10-6 margin.
The Falcons finished the game with a 31-23 margin in shots. Sholl stopped 21 shots in the game.
