Bowling Green concludes their exhibition slate this Friday as they welcome the United States National Team Development Program Under 18s. The Falcons picked up a win last Sunday as they downed the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks 3-1.

Tickets for Friday’s game are $5.

Falcons in the Polls

Bowling Green was picked to finish fourth by both the coaches and media in the WCHA preseason polls. The Falcons also received votes in the USCHO.com preseason poll.

Carp and Sharks

Former Falcon forward Ryan Carpenter made the San Jose Sharks opening night roster for the 2017-2018 season. This is Carpenter’s first time starting a season with the NHL club. He joins Kevin Bieksa (Anaheim Ducks) as Bowling Green’s representatives on NHL opening night rosters.

Previewing the U.S.N.T.D.P.

The Under 18 roster features NCAA commitments for all but two players. Oliver Wahlstrom leads the team in scoring this season with five goals and three assists in just five games played. Drew DeRidder has played the most minutes in net, compiling a 2.93 GAA and .899 SV%.

The Falcons last faced the U.S.N.T.D.P. in 2014, a 6-1 loss at the BGSU Ice Arena. Who were some of the players to take the ice for the US Team that night? Jack Eichel, Auston Matthews, and Dylan Larkin (amongst others).

Looking Ahead

The Falcons’ 2017-2018 season officially begins next Tuesday as they travel to Kalamazoo, Michigan to face MAC brethren Western Michigan.
