Brandon Hawkins is no longer a member of the Falcon hockey program, the Bowling Green athletics department announced Friday afternoon.

The junior forward was expected to be one of the team’s leading scorers this season after totaling 29 goals and 29 assists in 80 games during his first two seasons.

Hawkins hadn’t skated this season, the result of an ankle injury during off-ice training at home just before he returned to BG in August.

“We’d like to thank Brandon for his time in our program,” BG coach Chris Bergeron said in a statement issued by the department. “We wish him well in his future endeavors.”

Hawkins declined comment when contacted by BGSUHockey.com Friday night.

The Falcons host the University of Windsor in an exhibition Saturday at noon.
